Stanzel, Jiří ; Kotrusová, Miriam (advisor) ; Nekola, Martin (referee)
Unemployed young people as a target population in public policy Abstract Due to recent economic crisis young people up to age of 25 became one of the most endangered groups on the labour market. Disadvantaged position of young people is caused largely by inadequate structure of their qualification, lack of work experiences and work skills or unreal perception of work conditions. According to their position on labour market experts also emphasize negative effects of long-term unemployment on youth including not creating of work habits, loss of motivation to find a job and growing passivity. Unemployed young people became an important target group of public policy. The thesis works with the theory of social construction of target populations to explain policy process towards unemployed youth. It identifies existing social constructions of unemployed young people from perspective of key actors of unemployment policy. It also tries to explain how these constructions affect unemployment policy towards young people and what other factors have influence on its shape.

Burešová, Zdeňka ; Novotný, Vilém (advisor) ; Jelínková, Marie (referee)
Migration is a phenomenon which has strong impact on the Czech Republic. The Czech Republic is currently under transformation from transit country to immigration country. At the present time the situation is even more complicated because of the migrant crises which impact all of us. I suppose that the Members of Parliament will create social constructions or narratives about migrants during the sitting of parliament. I aim to identify social constructions of migrants that are created by the Czech political parties represented in the Chamber of Deputies since the 2013 election. I will divide social construction into two main groups. Ones belong to migrants and the other ones to refugees. I would like to find out if there are more positive or negative social constructions and how are benefits and punishments distributed to these groups. I would like to discover key narratives of particular political negotiation as well. Theoretical background of this thesis is the social construction of target population theory of Anne Schneider and Helen Ingram. In the manner of Lina Newton's article "It is not a question of being anti-immigrant: Categories of deservedness in immigration policy making", I will use a combination of discursive and narrative analysis as the main method. I will analyse statements and...

At the same time, it discusses the ways of using the mining heritage, the benefits and risks of its presence in the territory or its connection to territorial identities. The general starting points of the research are based on a search and critical discussion of scientific literature and key geographical concepts (heritage, place, identity). In the first part, the thesis deals with the conceptualization of heritage in general, discussing various ways of defining and looking at heritage, its characteristics and properties, and also it discusses possible approaches to it. The thesis also brings different perspectives on classification of heritage and analysis of its individual phases, as the heritage is seen as a socio-cultural process conditioned by individual actors, entities and interest groups who enter and influence it at various stages. The thesis also deals with the ways heritage shapes and affects the environment in which it is located, including its inhabitants and visitors. After a general discussion, the thesis...

Schlehrová, Sára-Ráchel ; Dobiášová, Karolína (advisor) ; Tůmová, Kateřina (referee)
The bachelor's thesis Changes in social construction of the unemployed during COVID- 19 crisis addresses the shift in public opinion about the target population of unemployed which occurred in the first half of 2020. The dominant public opinion of unemployed shifted from being considered as people who are reluctant to work, and thus not wanting to participate on the labour market, into almost half of the public thinking the unemployed do not work due to the lack of luck in finding new working position. Sudden transformation such as this can be caused by the direct effect of media or changes in the policy design. Therefore the thesis is set on mapping changes in the framing of the unemployed by the media but also on the transformation of policy design. The thesis is based on quantitative and qualitative analysis of the most read Czech journals (both Internet and newspaper articles) supported by the public policy theory of social construction of target populations (SCTP) introduced by Ingram and Schneider. Thematic analysis and frame analysis are used to describe the changes in the construction and framing of the unemployed as well as to characterize how the elements of policy design (such as tools, justifications or policy goals) have transformed during the chosen period of 2017 to 2020. Keywords...

It is based upon the fact, that there has been no such legislative document approved, which would be comprehensively dedicated to the issue of Social Housing Policy, although various attempts have been reappearing for the last ten years, and current government defined the approval of such a document as one of it's key political agenda. The thesis itself is based upon theoretically-methodological approach of targeted population's social construction, while using identification narrative to explain contemporary status, which occurs among policy makers.
